The Old Course in Vilamoura

Located in the heart of Vilamoura and only 20 minutes away from Faro airport, this parkland style layout designed by Frank Pennick is one of the oldest in the area of the Algarve and renown all over the golfing world.

It meanders throughout the impressive pinetrees which is the main hazzar here and undulating natural terrain. The course which opened in 1969 was completely renovated 27 years later with no major changes to this magnificent layout.

At the same time, a new clubhouse and a new putting green were built side by side and as with all local courses in Vilamoura this meets the criteria established by ISO 14001 standards, Green Globe and Committed to Green programs.

Pinhal Golf

Architect: Frank Pennick - In 1985 being remodelled and refurbished by Robert Trent Jones Jnr.

The second of the golf course built and inaugurated 1976 with several updates taking place over the following years with the biggest taking place in 1985.

The course is typied by the local lay of the land and is typified by the rolling parkland terrain covered with the local pines that line the fairways. With ponds and streams to take into account on 5 holes this makes it a challenging course for newbies but not serious threats to above-average golfers. keeping up with the modern game, several holes have been lenghtened and the course now measures 6.363 metres off the white tee markers.

The clubhouse was upgraded in 2000 and from the large verandah, one can enjoy panoramic views over the driving range and practice area.

Laguna Golf

Designed by U.S. Golf Architect and opened in 1990 this 6,121 metres course is laid out over low lying coastal terrain. Very differnt from the first two courses, with its many water hazards including several lakes, 79 bunkers as well as the wind which frequently blows over this somewhat exposed but beautiful location.

Close by, you will find the environmental nature park and also the new marina development, this attracts a wide variety of aquatic birds, both local and migratory, as well as amphibians, otters, terrapins etc.

Laguna Golf shares a large clubhouse with its neighbouring Millenium Course.

Victoria Clube do Golf Course

The Victoria Clube de Golfe is the fifth in Vilamoura and the most exclusive, making it ideal to become the Algarve's and Portugal's major venue for top international tournements.

This 18-hole, par 72 championship layout, measuring 6,609 metres from the back tees, with several man-made lakes providing hazards and irrigation for the course.
